The Woodlands collected 13 hits and scored multiple runs in each of the first three innings, cruising past Plano West 8-3 in Game 1 of their Region II-5A semifinal series on Thursday night in Waco.

Shelby Dublin went 3-for-3 at the plate as the top of the Lady Highlanders’ lineup chased Plano West’s starting pitcher, Marissa Butler, in the third inning. The Woodlands improved to 35-3 with the victory and will look for the sweep in Game 2 tonight. A Game 3, if necessary, will follow Game 2. Abby Langkamp was the winning pitcher, giving up two earned runs and six hits. She struck out six batters. click here for complete story
