For the first time in 11 seasons as the head coach at The Woodlands, Mark Schmid will have a returning starter at quarterback this year with senior-to-be Chris Andritsos.

“(Andritsos) is a guy that’s been there,” Schmid said. “He was part of 13 games last year, we played some great people in the playoffs, and he’s battled tested. He’s so much more comfortable, and because he’s done that, the game has kind of slowed down for him. It’s going to pay huge dividends on offense for us.”

Andritsos and the rest of the starters played sparingly, but Schmid said he likes what he’s seen from his players through spring practice. The Woodlands will open its 2014 campaign on Aug. 29, when it faces Cy-Fair at the Berry Center. click here for complete story
