Oak Ridge’s Trumaine Jefferson officially signed with the University of Houston track and field team on Thursday afternoon, the program announced via its Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Jefferson, the 2014 Class 5A state long jump champion was a standout track and field athlete for the War Eagles, competing in the long jump, high jump and multiple running events. The senior took home gold in the long jump at the UIL Track and Field State Meet in Austin earlier this month, leaping 24-1¼ on his final attempt to win by three inches over Elsik’s Ishmael Zamora. click here for complete story
