Atascocita’s Anthony Pagano picked a good time to hit his first home run of the year.
With two outs in the sixth inning and two on, the Eagle pitcher and outfielder blasted a fastball around the right field foul pole, giving Atascocita the insurance runs it eventually needed to secure a 10-8 win over Plano and sweep the Wildcats in the Region II-5A finals at Concordia University.
“I thought it might have a chance (to go out) when I first hit it,” Pagano said. “I was just hoping it would stay fair.”
Pagano, who also picked up the win on the mound, had his hopes come to fruition as the home run gave the Eagles a 10-2 lead the time as they were able to hold off the pesky Wildcats in the seventh. click here for complete story
