Baseball: Texas Rangers select Atascocita’s Jones in 39th round of MLB Draft

The Texas Rangers selected Atascocita’s Travis Jones in the 39th round of the MLB amateur draft on Saturday.

Jones went as the No. 1,176 pick though he is likely headed to play college at the University of Texas next year. Jones helped Atascocita to the Class 5A state semifinals this season and signed with the Longhorns last fall during the early signing period. Read more…
