Although Americans frequently wear the red, white and blue, the nation’s birthday is a favorite choice for these colors.
The Conroe Symphony Orchestra creates the perfect occasion with its “Patriotic Celebration” on Saturday, June 28.
“This is the most favored concert of all, with an enormous showing of hometown patriots celebrating America’s past and hope for the future,” said CSO Executive Director Dr. Aline Arnold, who noted that the orchestra is finishing 17 years of concerts.
A unique performance of “A Lincoln Portrait” with Don Hampton portraying Abraham Lincoln is a highlight of Saturday’s event. This year the concert is in the Conroe High School auditorium, 3200 W. Davis, rather than its past venue, The Ark Church. The music begins at 7:30 p.m., preceded by an “All American” dinner.
Sponsored by Friends of the Symphony, food service, at a cost of $15 per person, begins at 6 in the school cafeteria. The deadline for dinner reservations is Monday, June 23, but concert tickets will be sold at the door for $15, or $5 for under age 12. click HERE for complete story
