Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine — widely referred to as the Bible of Football in the Lone Star State — recently released its 2014 summer edition, and The Woodlands was once again picked to win its district.
The Highlanders, who won the District 14-5A title last season and finished with a 10-3 overall record, were picked by the magazine to beat out Atascocita, Kingwood, Oak Ridge, Summer Creek, College Park and Conroe, respectively, for the new District 16-6A crown this fall.
The Woodlands running back Patrick Carr — who is fielding offers from several different Division I programs — was chosen as the Preseason Offensive Most Valuable Player and is the top returning rusher in the league. Kingwood safety DeWitt Thomas was picked as the Preseason Defensive Most Valuable Player. click here for complete story
