Fireworks light up night sky, dazzle crowd at Red, Hot & Blue Fest

John Wozyiak’s 5-year-old daughter Jodi couldn’t stop bouncing in his lap as she waited anxiously for this year’s Red, Hot & Blue Festival’s fireworks show to begin Friday night in The Woodlands.

“Just a year or so ago she hated the loud noises,” Wozyiak said with a laugh. “Now she just stands and watches the fireworks with her month hanging open. We just hope the weather holds out.”

Fortunately for Jodi and her family, this year’s fireworks show avoided being rained out. Despite some drizzling earlier in the evening, the set of stormy clouds and weather headed south of The Woodlands according to officials, and the show went off without a hitch.

Nearly every inch of Town Green Park, the new venue for the festival, was packed with attendees from across South Montgomery County and beyond. Trace Hidarro journeyed all the way from the other side of Houston to watch the fireworks with her grandchildren. click here for complete story
