Sadness strikes the Texas Tech community. Former Red Raider baseball player Elliot Richoux died while celebrating the fourth of July at a lake. Friends close to Richoux expressed how amazing of a man the athlete was.“It’s easy to think of the good times when they’re gone, but with Elliot there weren’t bad times. There aren’t bad times to forget,” Max Kelleher, a friend from The Woodlands High School, said. “Quick to laugh, quicker to smile. I don’t think anyone I’ve ever known has had anything negative to say about him.”
“He just was a great overall guy,” former teammate David Michael Gates added. “I mean, I wish I could see him one last time, you know?”
According to the Montgomery County Police Report, Richoux dove off the dock at Lake Conroe into only five feet of water. He resurfaced briefly before going back under. Divers from the Montgomery County Fire Department located him after approximately 30 minutes and were unsuccessful in their attempts to revive him. click HERE for complete story and slideshow tribute
