Softball: Turn2 softball squad wins national tournament

Texas Turn2, a softball team comprised of girls from Montgomery County and the surrounding area, claimed first place in the U.S. Fastpitch Association World Series on Saturday in Panama City, Florida.

The under-8 team has players from Conroe, Montgomery, The Woodlands, Willis, Houston, Huntsville, Katy and Spring. Texas Turn2 defeated a squad from Chattanooga, Tennessee, in the championship game, scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win 18-17.

“We’re really proud of the girls,” Turn2 coach Darryl Pitcock said. “They did a great job.”

Turn2 went 2-1 in pool play before sweeping through the double-elimination phase of the tournament. Click HERE for complete story
