Former The Woodlands standout running back Daniel Lasco, now with the University of California, was named as a preseason candidate for the 2014 Doak Walker Award earlier this month.

Lasco is one of 53 players nationally on the list for the award that is presented annually to the nation’s top running back. Lasco is expected to begin training camp sharing the team’s top spot at running back with Khalfani Muhammad after impressive spring practice sessions and promising campaigns each of the past two seasons.

Lasco, who is The Woodlands all-time leading rusher with 3,901 yards, has played in more games (20) than any other running back on the Cal roster. Lasco rushed 67 times for 317 yards and two touchdowns last season. click HERE for complete story
