The 2014 high school football season brings major change and local teams from Kingwood, Atascocita and Summer Creek will feel it.

In addition to the regular bi-annual realignment, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) added a 6A division to the mix. That’s where the three local high school football teams will compete. All will join the newly-formed 16-6A with Conroe ISD schools The Woodlands, Conroe, Oak Ridge and College Park, to form the seven-team district. It should be an interesting one. Five of the seven teams made the playoffs last season; two were district champions and another, a district runner-up.

Atascocita is coming off a 10-2 season under second-year head coach Craig Stump. The Eagles were District 13-5A runners-up last season and made it to the area round of the Division II-5A playoffs. click HERE for complete story
