Woodlands Parkway widening behind schedule, contractor fined

A project to expand one of the main routes into The Woodlands is more than eight months behind schedule, leaving commuters frustrated and prompting the state to fine the contractor about $110,000 so far for the delays.

Crews are working to widen a 1.3-mile section of Woodlands Parkway from four lanes to six between Grogans Mill Road and East Panther Creek Drive. The stretch sits just west of where the parkway crosses Interstate 45 and carries motorists past Lake Woodlands. click here for complete story
