Oak Ridge’s Tori Valka will be the top returning runner for the Lady War Eagles this season.
Oak Ridge coach Kristina Dube wants to see her girls fight back. It was just nine months ago that the Lady War Eagles finished fourth in the District 14-5A meet, falling in a tie breaker to A&M Consolidated. But this is a new season, and Dube is hoping that her team can continue to grow and forge a strong bond that will carry them to success. So what’s it going to take?
“The key, I would say, would be motivation and leadership,” Dube said. “They’ve got to have someone that can lead them and also motivate.”
Enter Tori Valka. Coming into her junior year, Valka already has two seasons of varsity cross-country experience under her belt. She’ll be the Lady War Eagles’ top threat this fall after finishing 14th at the District 14-5A meet as a sophomore. click here for complete story
