Volleyball: College Park Defeats A&M Consolidated 3 – 1

After winning their first two non-tournament matches, Tiger volleyball was defeated tonight 3 games to 1 by the College Park Cavaliers.

After a strong start in the first game, led by senior Carly Hicks and junior Haley Slocum (33 kills combined), the Tigers won 25- 17, breaking through College Park’s strong defense with several scoring streaks. Slocum finished off the first game with a well-aimed kill.

At the start of the second game, College Park started with a lead and maintained it, not allowing the Tigers to gain any advantage, despite their quality effort. Consol could not catch up, and the Cavaliers won.

The next game seemed to be going the Tiger’s way in the first few minutes, but the tides quickly changed as the Cavaliers jumped into scoring streaks, and pulled into the lead. The Tigers were unable to gain any significant momentum, and the third game finished with the Cavaliers winning by seven points. The Cavaliers’ defense was quite impressive through all the games, deflecting even the most beautiful hits by Consol. click here for complete story
