Oak Ridge surprised a lot of people last year when it crushed Cypress Falls 37-16 in its season opener at Woodforest Bank Stadium. But the surprises didn’t stop there.
The War Eagles posted perhaps the area’s best turnaround season by winning their first seven games and returning to the playoffs after back-to-back 1-9 seasons. It was a testament to the job that coach Dereck Rush and his staff have done since arriving on campus and changing the landscape of the football program. Rush, now entering his third season at the helm, was named Montgomery County Coach of the Year for his team’s performance in 2013, but that could have just been the tip of the iceberg. click here for complete story
