Football: College Park uses extra week to prepare for playoff push

Returning to the playoffs is the top priority for College Park entering this season after falling one victory short of that goal last year.

The Cavaliers finished 2013 with a 5-5 overall record with a 2-4 mark in league play. But coach Richard Carson is confident his team can make a run at one of the four postseason spots in the new District 16-6A.

College Park did not hold official spring training with pads, and because of that, it was able to get started with fall practices a week earlier than most teams. It was a decision Carson feels will benefit his team greatly. click here for complete story
