The Woodlands coach Mark Schmid said he expects an all-out defensive battle Friday night when his team takes the field against 2013 regional finalists Cy-Fair.

The Highlanders and Bobcats will tangle at 7 p.m. at the Berry Center in Cypress, marking the beginning of a new season for a pair of teams with high aspirations. Defense will take center stage as the Highlanders return eight starters on that side of the ball.
