Cross Country: TWCA, Cooper look for continued success as private school powers

52430ab3de987.imageThe Woodlands Christian and The John Cooper School are perennial powers in TAPPS and the Southwest Preparatory Conference, respectively, and that’s not likely to change this season.

The Woodlands Christian

TWCA’s girls finished as the runner-up at the TAPPS Class 3A Championships last season and will be one of the top returning teams in the state. The squad is led by four girls who coach Tom Earle said could all post top-15 finishes: Hannah Shearer, Alyssa Regier, Riley Farra and Hailey Hanigan.

Dominating Dragon

Cooper’s Pedro Nasta entered his senior season as the three-time defending SPC individual champion. He’s won the title every year since he was a freshman, and he’ll be looking to add a fourth as he leads the Dragons this season.
