Cross Country: Boys’ Preview (C-Meaux Spotlight & Preseason Rankings)

The spotlight is on and all eyes are focused on College Park’s Connor Meaux.

As Meaux enters his senior season he is the talk of the town and has officially become the boy to beat in Houston’s cross-country circuit.

“Having the target on my back brings some pressure because it does raise expectations, but at the same time I have more confidence,” Meaux said. “Before doing well at state I did not know if I could compete with the best, but now I know I can.”

Having played second-fiddle to The Woodlands Highlander’s cross-country program, which has 15 state titles, the Cavs may be turning the tide. With a second-place team finish at state last year, Meaux is setting the tone for his Cavs to be the team to beat instead of their local neighbor.
