With Conroe Independent School District kicking off its Eighth Annual Read for a Better Life initiative this week, Superintendent Dr. Don Stockton took time out of Tuesday night’s CISD board of trustees meeting to read a book to a group of students.
“Reading is the single-most important thing that children can do to better their future,” Stockton said. “Our responsibility as adults is to take the time to read to them. That time we spend reading to children could change lives and change their future.”
CISD recognizes that the single most important activity to build the knowledge required for their success in reading is reading aloud to children, according to Dr. Chris Hines, deputy superintendent of schools. click here for complete story
