Oak Ridge has a lot of speed on both sides of the ball, and coach Dereck Rush expects that to be a nice advantage for the War Eagles when they take the field Saturday night.
Oak Ridge will put its perfect record on the line when it hosts Deer Park, also 3-0, in its final non-district game. The Deer are coming off of a 24-14 victory over Clear Creek. The War Eagles crushed Klein Forest 62-34 last Friday.
“We’re trying to get better,” said Rush, whose team will open District 16-6A play at Kingwood next Friday. “We’re trying to get better for our district games coming up. We’re trying to improve in every area and we’ll use this game here as a measuring stick at every position.”
Oak Ridge’s offense has shown its prowess in the early going, racking up nearly 400 yards per game, third among seven league teams behind only Conroe and Atascocita. Click here for complete story
