The Woodlands rebounded from a Game 1 loss to claim a 23-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-21 victory over crosstown rival College Park on Friday evening, extending its winning streak to 17 matches.
Courtney Quinn led the charge for the No. 4 state-ranked Lady Highlanders with 18 kills and 14 digs, and Rachel Reed added 13 as The Woodlands (24-2, 3-0) won its 28th consecutive district game. Kendall Cook contributed 37 assists and 13 digs, and Hailey Reier and Colby Quinn finished with 12 digs each.
“It’s huge because I think College Park has a great team this year,” The Woodlands coach Leslie Madison said. “Our next district opponent is Oak Ridge, who has a great team this year, and then we have Kingwood. Our district will extremely competitive, so that’s big to get that win.”
College Park (20-5, 1-1) was led by Kennedi Smith, who tallied 17 kills and 16 digs. Savannah Rutledge led the team with 20 digs, and Hannah Erwin paced the offense with 18 assists. click here for complete story
