Late bus runs, safety a concern for parents, CISD

After a Conroe ISD parent brought up a student safety issue to the school board last week, CISD board trustee Scott Kidd reassured the audience that the safety of the students is “something we take very seriously.”

Truck Bolinger, a father of two teenagers who attend Caney Creek High School as well as two younger daughters, expressed concern about all the children who ride a late bus with a satellite stop alongside Texas 105 East near Emerson Estates.

“I want to bring to your attention the late bus drop-off from Caney Creek High School, a satellite drop-off, and parents are expected to pick them up,” Bolinger told the board Tuesday night. “Most of these kids that are getting off the bus, their parents aren’t home until (later). These children are walking on 105 during rush-hour traffic for a quarter-mile.”

Bolinger told the board he is concerned that the children are at risk of getting hit by a car. click here for complete story
