Conroe trailed Summer Creek by just six points with 10 minutes left, but the Bulldogs were equal to the task. Summer Creek converted a Conroe turnover into the decisive touchdown and added another score, holding off the Tigers 56-36 last Friday night at Buddy Moorhead Memorial Stadium.
The Bulldogs, in their first year in Texas’ largest classification, improved to 3-3 overall and 2-0 in District 16-6A. Conroe, meanwhile, fell to 3-4 overall and 0-3 in 16-6A play.The Tigers scored on the first play from scrimmage, with Colby Kizzie hitting Kelly McFarland on a play-action pass that covered 68 yards for the touchdown.
