Volleyball: The Woodlands sweeps crosstown rival College Park

The Woodlands defeated crosstown rival College Park for the sixth consecutive time on Tuesday evening, picking up a 25-16, 25-21, 25-15 road victory for the 2-0 season sweep over the Lady Cavaliers.

Rachel Reed led the strong-serving Lady Highlanders (31-2, 9-0 in District 16-6A), recording seven of the team’s 12 aces. Hannah Hickman and Julia Pasch each tallied a team-high eight kills, Kendall Cook paced the offense with 26 assists, and Courtney Quinn added 13 digs.

“She did a really nice job,” The Woodlands coach Leslie Madison said of Reed. “She’s gotten really impressive with her serve, and normally we can count on that for at least a few points. … (College Park has) great fans and a great program, so to come here and win is a big accomplishment for us.”

College Park (24-7, 5-3) has two days to regroup before facing off against Oak Ridge on Friday. That match will also play a key role in determining the final league standings as the season winds down. click here for complete story
