Abby Guidry took first place overall to lead Kingwood to the District 16-6A girls cross country title on Thursday at Atascocita High School.

Guidry won by more than 20 seconds with a time of 17 minutes, 52.68 seconds in the five-kilometer race to top second place The Woodlands’ Lourdes Vivas for the individual title. Kingwood advances to the Region II-6A cross country championships at Vandergriff Park in Arlington on Nov. 1. Guidry was one of four Lady Mustangs to finish in the top 10.
