Carnival Cruise Lines selects College Park has the city’s best band.
The College Park Cavaliers Marching Band wins the “Battle of the Marching Bands” sponsored by KHOU News and Carnival Cruise Lines! The announcement was made at approximately 6:45 a.m., on KHOU’s morning news program.
College Park was one of five schools in the finals of the competition. When the announcement was made and the trophy brought out, it was handed to the band’s director, Charlotte Royall.
“Awesome! Our kids are is truly awesome!” said Royall.
A panel of qualified judges selected by Carnival Cruise Lines, judged all eligible entries according to the following criteria: 33%) Sound; (33%) musical ability and (33%) style. click here for complete story
