It was the Justin Edwards show at Woodforest Bank Stadium on Thursday night.
The Oak Ridge senior running back rumbled his way to four touchdowns as the War Eagles rolled past Summer Creek 38-22 in a District 16-6A contest.
“He’s been big for us all year,” Oak Ridge coach Dereck Rush said. “He’s been working hard all year for us. He’s a big back that can run downhill. … The offensive line did a good job of blocking for him tonight.”
Edwards scored on runs of 3, 1, 31 and 7 yards as the War Eagles’ win all-but knocked Summer Creek out of playoff contention. Oak Ridge (7-3, 4-2) will play Klein Collins in the Region II-6A bi-district playoffs next Friday back at Woodforest Bank Stadium. The War Eagles are the No. 3 seed out of District 16-6A.
