Cross Country: Kingwood girls take third at Class 6A state championships

The Kingwood girls cross country team finished third overall at the UIL Class 6A State Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

The Lady Mustangs took the team bronze with a total of 104 points, third behind Lewisville ISD schools Hebron and Marcus respectively at the race held at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

“I thought they competed well,” Kingwood coach Christie Burleson said. “We are very proud of them. They were 10th last year, so to go from 10th to third is quite an accomplishment. I thought they did very well.”
