Three high school football teams in The Woodlands area are headed to the state playoffs beginning this weekend.
The Woodlands, which won the District 16-6A title with a 6-0 record in district, takes on Klein Oak at 7 p.m. Friday at Klein Memorial Stadium in Class 6A Division I Region II’s opening round.
The Highlanders wrapped up the regular season on a nine-game winning streak, defeating Kingwood 35-27 at Woodforest Bank Stadium. The Woodlands’ only loss was in the season-opener to Cy-Fair.
