A massive 30-by-60-foot American flag flown over Town Green Park was the backdrop for The Woodlands Township’s Veterans Day Tribute on Tuesday.

The tribute was a community effort — The Woodlands Fire Department provided the flag, which flew from the top of extended firetruck ladders, H-E-B took care of refreshments, and organizations like Helping a Hero and Operation Holidays for Heroes had booths to encourage veteran support.

Bruce Tough, chairman of The Woodlands Township Board of Directors, led the tribute, recognizing a few hometown veterans, one being his father, an Army Air Corps veteran who served in World War II. click here for complete story
