Oak Ridge coach Dereck Rush knew Klein Collins could run the football. He got a first-hand glimpse of the Tigers’ talents on Friday night.
Klein Collins amassed 474 yards rushing to overpower Oak Ridge 38-20 in the Class 6A Division I bi-district playoffs at Woodforest Bank Stadium. The Tigers improved to 10-1 while Oak Ridge finished its season 7-4.
“They’ve got some big offensive linemen and they did a good job, just like they always do,” Rush said. “Our kids fought hard; they didn’t quit. That’s a definite positive. They’ve got nothing to hang their heads about. Not at all.”
Klein Collins’ Justin Pratt blew through a gaping hole on the first play from scrimmage and scored on a 69-yard touchdown run. It was a sign of things to come for the War Eagles. click here for complete story
