Football: Westfield tramples College Park 49-21

The College Park Cavaliers faced some long odds going into their Class 6A Division II bi-district playoff game against Westfield on Friday night.

The Mustangs showed their might early and pulled away, posting a 49-21 victory to end the Cavs’ season. College Park finished the year 3-8 while Westfield improved to 10-1.

“Our kids played hard, and they always play hard,” College Park coach Richard Carson said. “(Westfield) is good. They’re well-coached, and they play hard too. They just beat us.”

The Mustangs started off fast, gaining a 14-0 lead in the first nine minutes of play behind the play of senior running backs Akpaffiong Tisdel and Rayqan Jones, who each rushed for a touchdown. click here for complete story
