Charlotte Hodges scored 20 points to lead Kingwood to a 62-47 win over Dickinson on Tuesday at Kingwood High School.

The Lady Mustangs (5-0) went up early and held on to the lead, or a tie, throughout to take the non-district win.

“Overall I thought we played pretty well,” Kingwood coach Tonia Thomas said. “We don’t really look the same as we did last year so we have a lot of new players stepping up this year. Some players are playing positions that they don’t normally play and I think they are doing a really good job at it. I was happy with our performance tonight.”

Kingwood jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the game only to see it dwindle to a 13-7 by the end of the third quarter as Dickinson’s Samone Walker began to heat up. click here for complete story
