The shout-outs and congratulatory messages started well before The Woodlands and Clear Falls met in the first all-Houston volleyball state final. They came from as far north as Kingwood, as far south as Alvin, and as far west as Richmond. And they continued as the Highlanders celebrated their second state championship in as many years.

This was big for Houston, which endured 12 straight years of schools in the state’s largest classification bowing out on the biggest stage. The Woodlands snapped the streak last year, capping a 45-0 season with a state and national championship. click here for complete story
