College Park boys basketball coach Clifton McNeely has a special appreciation for the Conroe Noon Lions Club.
When one of his players needed medical attention for a vision problem last year, the Lions Club was there to provide financial means for the young man’s family. So when McNeely stepped up to the podium at the 39th Annual Roundball Roundup on Wednesday afternoon, he knew exactly what to say.
“I’m grateful to have this opportunity to come here,” McNeely told the crowd, “but I’m more grateful for what all of you guys do for our community out here in Conroe, and more importantly, Montgomery County as a whole. Thank you guys for that.”
All four of the Conroe ISD coaches from District 16-6A — McNeely, Conroe’s John Oliverio, The Woodlands’ Dale Reed and Oak Ridge’s Neil Laminack — were on hand to speak about their teams and what local fans can expect to see this season. click here for complete story
