Spring community grieves after deaths of 2 students, trainer

At Dekaney High School in north Harris County, Sarid Shahdaiah and Quincy Williams were known not only for their prowess on the football field, but for their ability to lighten the mood and make others laugh.

Larry Jessamy – known as “Coach Larry” – enjoyed working with young people, a coworker says, sometimes agreeing to train them at no cost to keep them in school or help them become a college prospect.

After classes let out Wednesday afternoon, the three were traveling in Jessamy’s Chevrolet Camaro at a high speed toward The Woodlands, where Jessamy often helped students with workouts, according to the Harris County sheriff’s office. The vehicle struck a curb on an Interstate 45 service road, collided with a van, hit another curb and then wrapped around the concrete pillar of an overpass. The students and their trainer were killed instantly. click here for complete story
