To date, the high school sports landscape and its coverage has largely been left on the periphery.

There’s been a gradual introduction and inclusion of this programming into the major networks, in their terms, though. ESPN and Fox Sports 1, for instance, televised a combined 33 high school football games between them last year. While the rights to such games might be more available than the professional ranks, the number of them broadcasted have remained low, in part, due to the lack of national following for a given team.
