The Woodlands is starting over.
Nicole Iademarco (Arizona State) and Kristin Mahoney(Iona College), who helped the Highlanders win a district championship last season, are gone, and two returning seniors were dismissed.
They also lost senior guard Aaliyah Wheatfall to an injury last week.
“We’re definitely young, we’re definitely rebuilding, but we finished the Katy tournament real strong (before District 16-6A play began), and started to really come together,” coach Dana Bruton said.
“So, we’re going to be young, and we’re going to have to work through some of those mistakes you have with young ball handlers and people who are not used to playing at that level quite yet.”
Despite the adversity, The Woodlands was 8-9 last week after splitting its first two 16-6A games, showing its potential. click here for complete story
