As soon as last season ended, the Kingwood girls basketball team began dreaming about what it could accomplish with five starters back this year.

The Mustangs never imagined they would have to do it without their talented point guard. Rice-signee Gabrielle Stanton, part of the team’s dynamic backcourt duo, injured her knee last May.
