Atascocita is a balanced basketball team.

The Eagles do have their starting five, but along with that is a bench that can contribute heavily and productively night in and night out. A perfect start to the season, 14-0 and the No. 1 ranking in the most recent Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll, has garnered the Eagles some attention, but head coach David Martinez said the start is not just because of one guy.

“I don’t really think we have a go-to guy,” he said. “I mean we really do have a number of kids that can step up and have a big game.”
