The Woodlands volleyball team conquered one obstacle after another on its way to the Class 6A state championship last month.
The Lady Highlanders lost seven players from the 45-0 team that won the 5A state championship in 2013. They shrugged off a District 16-6A loss to a talented Oak Ridge squad in October. And they survived a match point in the state semifinals against San Antonio Churchill.
The Woodlands had three players selected to the Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class 6A All-State team and the Lady Highlanders’ coach, Leslie Madison, was chosen as the TSWA Coach of the Year. click here for complete story
