So far in the 2014-2015 season, Atascocita has faced some hurdles, had to beat teams in overtime and come from behind to clinch some of their victories. That type of play had propelled the Eagles to a perfect 18-0 start and No. 1 ranking in the most recent Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll.

Cy-Woods didn’t care about any of that. The Wildcats came out and pushed the Eagles to the brink every moment from the beginning all the way to the end of the 75-71 upset victory.

“Very good Cy-Woods team at that, they hit 12 three’s, I’ve been on the other side of that when you hit 12 three’s, you’re a hard team to beat, any team is hard to beat when you hit 12 three’s,” Atascocita head coach David Martinez said. “But you know what, execution  wasn’t quite there tonight. We’ll learn from our mistakes and move on regardless.”

Cy-Woods opening the game taking a 21-14 lead behind the play of the big man Samir Sehic, who scored 12 of his 25 points in the game. click here for complete story
