Kingwood finished 2-2 as the host team of the Insperity Holiday Classic Dec. 29 and Dec. 30 by concluding its tournament with a 63-52 win over Austin Anderson. The Mustangs forced 15 Trojan turnovers in the contest, which allowed Kingwood to lead virtually the entire game.

“We try to be a good defensive team,” Kingwood head basketball coach Royce Huseman said. “At times we look good and at other times we don’t look so good. That’s what we’ve been known for – playing solid defense. If we don’t, then we’re not getting it done like we should.”

Senior guard Mitchell Clouse kept the Mustangs in front of the Trojans by hitting four triples en route to 18 points. Clouse open looks came much in part to Anderson’s defense focusing on clogging the paint where rising 6-foot-7 star Fabian White worked for 14 points, 10 boards, three assists and three blocks. click here for complete story
