On the road, Summer Creek needed a balanced performance to take down Kingwood, which was sitting in second place in District 16-6A entering Friday night, while the Bulldogs sat in fourth in the standings.
The Bulldogs (16-9, 4-3 in 16-6A play) came out and jumped all over the Mustangs, leading 24-12 at the half, en route to a 52-34 victory.
“Well each one of the (district) wins is crucial,” Summer Creek head coach James Bailey said. “Coming around the second half of district, you never know what’s going to happen with each group. There were some games over the first half that we felt we should have won and we didn’t perform our best. Our idea now is to come out and win the games we’re supposed to win.”
Summer Creek’s balanced attack was present from the get-go, four different players scoring the opening 10 points of the game. click here for complete story
