Boys Basketball: College Park, Oak Ridge look for late season push

While neither team looks to be on the path to the postseason, there will still be a large amount of pride on the line when Oak Ridge meets College Park Friday.

When the two squads met back on Jan. 13, the Cavaliers (14-14, 3-5) escaped with a 72-67 double-overtime victory despite a 38-point effort from War Eagles guard Darius Love.

“We didn’t have our best scorer (forward Cameron Prejean) last time against College Park with a concussion,” said Oak Ridge coach Neil Laminack. “I expect both teams to come out hard at each other.”

Since then, Oak Ridge has lost four of its five games, including an 85-41 loss to Atascocita Tuesday, sending its record to 12-19, and 1-8 in district 16-6A,. The team will miss the playoffs, but a win over a crosstown rival could give the team a spark heading into next season. click here for complete story
