Victor Jarvis led The Woodlands to a second-place finish in the Region III-6A wrestling championships on Saturday at the Berry Center in Cypress.

Jarvis, a sophomore, was the winner in the boys 113-pound weight class. He leads of contingent of seven TWHS wrestlers to the state championships that start on Friday in Garland.

Jarvis improved to 39-4 with a hard-fought 6-5 decision over Seven Lakes’ Zach Mortus in the finals. Jarvis had to ride out Mortus in the final period to ensure the victory.
