Fencing: Oak Ridge HS freshman a national fencing champion

There are few teenagers that can set a realistic goal of competing in the Olympics, but Jessica Thow can count herself among them.

54e63b99b71fd.imageThow, who is 15 and a freshman at Oak Ridge High School, is an international competitor in the sport of fencing. Last November, she brought home the gold medal from the North American Cup in Louisville, Kentucky, and earned herself an “A” rating — the highest possible — in her age bracket.
