Softball: In Loving Memory – “Jimbo’s” Field

What goes into defining a coach’s legacy?

Is it the number of wins, playoff berths or championships? Or can it be better characterized by the countless number of lives that they touched?

“When Jim died we came down we had no idea how big softball was a part of his life,” Kim Goeden, sister of James Grotenhuis, said. “We knew it was big, but we had no clue it was that big. The softball community that he had was a huge family for him. We were excited when he moved here to (Atascocita) because Jim was a very good coach and very respected in the community.
